2023 Governorship: I want to reset Imo- -General Ogunewe …Donates bus, N1Million

Nigeria’s former number two army officer, Major-General Lincoln Ogunewe has declared his ambition to reset Imo State as the next governor after the November 11th, 2023 Guber polls.
Ogunewe, a former Chief of Policy and Plans in the Nigerian Army and former Defence Adviser to the United Nations who hails from Ezinihitte Local Government Area of Imo State, made the declaration at the Imo State Labour Party headquarters at Agwara Plaza on Wetheral Road, Owerri on Thursday 3rd November, 2022 before a large crowd of party stalwarts and members.
“I am here to present my humble self as a governorship aspirant of this great party because Imo State is on a free fall just like Nigeria and I want to reset the state”
The former top gun at Defence Intelligence Agency who joined the Army at the age of 17 and retired after 38 years at the age of 55, added, “I took the decision because I am convinced that I am morally, physically, mentally and professionally qualified for the position”
The brother of late former member representing Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Independence Ogunewe, was introduced to the leadership of the party by Prof. Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe who recently dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Expressing excitement at Ogunewe’s membership of the party, the State Chairman of the party, Chief Dr Sir Ambrose Onyekwere revealed that Ogunewe was the third personality to declare interest in contesting for governorship on the platform of the party.
Onyekwere affirmed that just like the two aspirants who came earlier, Ogunuwe is eminently qualified for the position, adding that indications are that the party will boast of at least twenty governorship aspirants before the primaries billed for March, 2023.
Apart from Prof. Vitalis Ajumbe who announced a donation of a bus and one million naira to the party, other personalities present at the event were Navy Commodore MOJ Njoku, Prof. Chinedu Anosike-Asinu, aka Cona, Hon. Dr. Prince Arnold, Hon. Bethel Nzimaka, a former deputy governorship candidate, LP Deputy State Chairman, Mazi Excel Ochiama, Secretary, Sir Fab Okochi, Treasurer, Dr. Chris Uzowuru, Women Leader, Mrs Amaka Chiegene, Organising Secretary, Comrade Joseph Mbama, Financial Secretary, Ms. Glory Ohiri, Youth Leader, Comr. Chris Okorondu, Deputy Publicity Secretary, Comr. Alvan Opara, Chairman of Media and Publicity Committee, Dr, Joseph Ibewuike, Dr. Chris Akubuiro, Comr. Salvator Amadi, Hon. Chukwunonye Irouno, Hon. Alan B Onyemaechi, Zonal Chairmen and Women Leaders, LGA Chairmen among others.
