The executive governor of Anambra State and former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Charles Chuukuma Soludo took to his social verified Facebook handle to debunk the news of the discovery of 20 million tonnes of gold in the country’s Southeast region.
Mr. Soludo tagged the news that trended across various social media platforms as fake. He wrote, “My attention has been drawn to the above false information peddled across different social media platforms. Every letter of this piece is as fake and untrue as the unidentified writer who invested precious time to put together this fiction and published same, understandably so, in an uncredible medium.”
The executive governor urged the general republic to disregard the trending news about the discovery of billions of dollars worth of gold in the country’s eastern region and also urged the general public to work with information from authorized government sources, and his verified social media handles.
“I urge the reading public to disregard this, and always stickk to my verified handles or approved government channels for any information that bears my imprimatur.”
