Kaduna is unsafe for Christians- Says CAN

The Kaduna State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN have described the state as unsafe for Christian leaders following the discovery of the decomposing remains of the slain abducted priest.

The Chairman of CAN in the state, Rev. John Hayab, stated this in Kaduna while reacting to the killing of a Catholic Priest from Kafanchan Diocese, Rev Fr John Mark Cheitnum on Tuesday by Terrorists and many others.

“He said Kaduna State is a dangerous place to travel around and not safe for Christian leaders.”

Dr Hayab however said they were consoled that Rev. Fr. Donatus Cleophas, who was kidnapped with Rev. Fr. John Mark, escaped from his abductors.

The Priest was abducted from the rectory of Christ the King Parish Yadin Garu, Lere L.G.A of Kaduna State, and brutally killed by his abductors on the same day of his abduction, Friday 15th July 2022.

The Diocese of Kafanchan has declared two-day mourning for the peaceful repose of his soul and solicits prayers for God’s consolation for his immediate family.

CAN also call on all Christians to refrain from taking the law into their hands.
