Luis Suarez has received an unprecedented contract offer from Argentine Primera Division club River Plate as he prepares to leave Atletico Madrid this summer.

Suarez’s contract with Atletico Madrid expires on June 30, and he will leave the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium after two years. According to Fichajes, he may be moving to Argentina, where River Plate is interested in signing him.

River Plate president Brito: “Yes, we have contacted Luís Suárez but it’s now only up to him”, he said on a potential deal for Luís.#transfers

River are looking for new striker as Julián Álvarez will join City. Suárez said few days ago: “I’m focused on European football”.

The offer from Los Millonarios is unmatched in Argentine football, as they try to make Suarez the Primera Division’s poster boy. Suarez’s proposed contract would make him the highest-paid player in league history, surpassing Carlos Tevez’s 2015 contract with Boca Juniors. The Fichajes report doesn’t give any figures, but the Birmingham Mail estimates it’s in the area of £4.2 million.

The Uruguayan has had a tremendous career with Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, and Ajax despite being on the wrong side of 30. In 697 club appearances, he has 240 goals and 152 assists. Among other accolades, he has won the UEFA Champions League, the La Liga title five times, and the Eredivisie crown.

However, with the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on the horizon, the legendary forward wants to continue his career in Europe. As a result, Suarez is said to have made an offer to Juventus of Serie A.

Prior to joining Atletico Madrid from Barcelona in 2020, the 35-year-old was close to joining Massamilliano Allegri’s team. He might replace Alvaro Morata at Juventus, as the Spaniard’s loan term from Atletico Madrid comes to an end.

The journalist claims that deal could be announced within “days”, with the Brazilian international expected to be the first of a number of first-team players leaving the Etihad this summer.

Arsenal had a £30m bid rejected for Jesus last week, with the Citizens holding ou for a fee in the region of £50m. However, there is a feeling that a compromise is likely, with add-ons expected to make up the gap between the two team’s valuations.

As Jesus only has a year left on his contract, City are very much open to letting him leave. The likes of Chelsea, Tottenham and Juventus have also been linked with the Brazilian but the Gunners have always been firm favourites for the player’s signature.

Mikel Arteta has worked with Jesus before, whilst their technical director Edu is known to have close contacts with the player’s agent, so it appears that a deal will be finalised

Real Madrid are continuing to plan for next season. ‘Los Blancos’, after having announced the signings of Tchouameni and Rudiger and Modric’s renewal, have practically assured that Vinicius Junior will stay.

Madrid, after the great season Real Madrid had, had in mind an option to increase his salary and extend his contract. In recent months, there has been speculation of an extension until 2026,. but it will not be like that in the end.

Fabrizio Romano, a journalist who specialises in transfer news, says that Vinicius will renew at the club in the coming days until 2027, a year later than planned. And all of that has an explanation.

The cited source says that Florentino Perez asked the Brazilian to extend his contract for five seasons instead of four to avoid future problems between both parties. The player has accepted that.

The attacker will end up earning 10 million euros a season and his buyout clause will go up to one billion euros.
