A northerner, Ismaila Yusuf, has disclosed why he will vote for the Labour Party (LP) candidate for the 2023 presidential election, Mr. Peter Gregory Onwubuasi Obi.
According to Yusuf, after 47 years of rulership by Nigerians of northern extraction, things are only getting worse in the region.
In retrospect, however, he stated that Nigeria civil war was fought in the South East for three years but rebuilt their region in record time.
He noted, meanwhile, that poverty is the lowest, literacy is the highest, mother death at childbirth is the lowest,” in the region.
“But our Arewa leaders will keep telling us Igbo man is our problem,” he lamented, adding that his vote in 2023 “belongs to Peter Obi of Anambra state.
He enjoined fellow northerners to eschew ethnicism and not “vote [the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Abubakar] Atiku because he is your fellow Arewa or [All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Alhaji Bola Ahmed] Tinubu because he is your fellow Muslim”.
